About me

The urge to create was in me long before photography became my medium. I explored other art forms, until I found a quiet sense of belonging in photography. What draws me to photography is precision. The minutest detail matters the conscious consideration of every square inch, every pixel that contributes to the narrative. It’s not just about capturing an image; it’s about aligning multiple layers the story of the brand, the nature of the food, the intent of the recipe or cookbook, the identity of the restaurant or the land it comes from. It is all about the story and everything in the frame is there to support that story. It is a convergence: of technicality and intuition, of camera and light, of expression and observation. It is where the photographer, the subject, and the story come together synergizing into a single frame that says exactly what it needs to.

This is not just what I do; it is a calling, a quiet muse that continues to draw me in, frame after frame. I have been working with restaurants, food brands, magazines, and cookbook authors for over 15 years, collaborating with both local and international clients to create thoughtful, story-driven food imagery. My work spans concept development, styling direction, and studio-based execution, often in close collaboration with chefs and creative teams to ensure every image reflects the essence of the brand. Over the years, I’ve built a process rooted in clear communication, strong visual planning, and attention to detail, allowing me to translate ideas into compelling visual narratives that feel both authentic and refined.

The Process

I am a Chicago based food, product and lifestyle photographer. My process starts with understanding the brand in depth: its story, its intent, and its visual language through direct exchange with the client.

From there, I build a detailed creative direction and mood board, defining light, color, texture, composition, and styling down to the smallest detail. Every element is pre-visualized so that the shoot unfolds with precision, intention, and flow, whether it is a product or food.

On set, whether in a restaurant or in my state-of-the-art studio, I structure the process, so it moves seamlessly frame by frame, dish by dish optimizing time, resources, and creative energy.

In my studio, I collaborate with a professional chef who can recreate recipes in real time, allowing complete control over precision and presentation. Clients are welcome to view the entire process as it unfolds, ensuring full transparency and alignment at every stage.

For cookbook and recipe-driven work, this setup allows brands and authors to witness the full translation of concept into imagery. I also work on recipe development when required.

My approach is intentional and highly structured, designed to eliminate guesswork and bring clarity, alignment, and efficiency to the creative process from concept to final image.
